Bokashi One Bucket

Are your food scraps going to waste? You can create Nutrient rich liquid fertiliser juice for your garden trees and plants by supporting the food waste break-down process with a Bokashi composting system.

The Bokashi One Bucket reduces the need for an outside compost pile and is a great addition to, although easier to maintain than, a worm farm. The airtight lid ensures an ideal environment for anaerobic fermentation to take place, while controlling odours and deterring flies. Placing the plastic grate inside the bucket and then piling food waste on top of it separates the food waste from the liquid that accumulates at the bottom of the bucket. This liquid can be easily drained through the tap and used as a nutrient-rich fertiliser for the garden. How cool is that~!

One of the biggest differences between bokashi composting, or fermentation, and other types of composting is that it works anaerobically (without oxygen). In hot, cold, and vermicomposting, oxygen is incredibly important to ensure proper breakdown of the material.

In addition to the veggie and fruit scraps, eggshells, tea, and coffee grounds, you can also add fat, dairy, meat, and even bones to a bokashi system. It also works much faster than any other type of composting, with the whole process of creating liquid fertiliser taking 4-6 weeks, or quicker if you just compost fruits and veggies.

How It Works:

  • Food waste is layered with a sprinkle of Bokashi One Mix in the Bokashi One Bucket
  • Microorganisms in the Bokashi One Mix ferment the waste inside the air-tight bucket
  • The fermented waste reduces in volume as water content drains through the grate at the bottom of the bucket, creating fantastic Bokashi One Juice
  • Bokashi juice is bursting with microorganisms and can be used in the garden, on indoor plants, and as an eco-friendly natural cleaner for drains and septic systems
  • When the bucket is full, bury the fermented waste beneath the soil in the garden to complete the composting process
  • Waste breakdown is rapid thanks to the micoorganisms present in the Bokashi One Mix
  • The compost returns valuable nutrients back into the soil to help maintain soil quality and reduce your impact on the environment

Suzie has had many clients who say the Bokashi One systems are so much more hygenic (no maggots), efficient (quicker) and eco friendly (less waste + healthier soil) than other composting methods. With a love of supporting Aussie innovators who dedicate their life to designing eco friendly products, Suzie is happy to add this to her specially curated list of products to support your family's efficiency, health and wellbeing.

Adding the Bokashi One™ Mix to your compost bucket to feed good bacteria to your garden. It is the micro-organisms that are the foundation of this system they ferment the waste in thebucket and they accelerate the breakdown of the waste in the soil while adding essential life to the soil. See it HERE

If you would like to collect from Suzie in Longreach or Brisbane, do not add postage. This will be calculated at a lesser rate and can be paid upon collection on the day.
