75 Min Remedial Massage (Return Clients)
For Men and Women
Service Description
Your session will include a 15 min check in with Suzie + 1 hr 15 mins remedial massage. Each remedial massage experience is designed to ease aches and muscular tension and increase the blood flow to the problem areas as well as stimulate the flow of relaxing endorphins. Your massage balances the use of releasing Remedial techniques with long flowing strokes. The goal of Remedial Massage is to correct dysfunctions that cause pain or reduce movement. You have 206 bones and about 640 or more muscles so it’s inevitable that over time, these will rotate, move up and down, or forward and back. Over time, repetitive movements, prolonged body positions, or injuries can cause imbalances in the muscles and misalignments of the body. For example, some muscles become short and tight, others become long and weak. Pressure is varied to suit your tolerance levels. Two processes help us analyse and identify your body’s needs. A Postural Analysis allows a whole body picture that can be repeated periodically to see how massage is positively helping your posture to improve. As well, a General Muscular Screening (GMS) is performed to assess the body’s functional limitations and range of motion and incorporates relevant tests. A specific treatment plan is then developed to decide the most effective method of treatment. Remedial Massage may incorporate the following techniques – MFR - Myofascia Release – release tightness of fascia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myofascial_release PRT - Positional Release Technique - reduce tenderness http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strain_and_counterstrain MET - Muscle Energy Technique – reduce hypertonicity http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscle_energy_technique Mobilising Techniques (not manipulation) – improve mobility http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joint_mobilization
